Lesson: Don't wear flip flops in February
Yesterday I wore my Chaco Flips to a coffee shop to study with my friend, Christy, because it was relatively warm (50s) when we left. I came home around 5:30pm for 30 minutes to eat before we went to a movie with some other girls. I put on an extra layer, because I knew it was getting colder, but in the rush to eat and meet everyone I didn't change out of my Flips. On the way to the theater my feet were cold, but it wasn't that big of a deal because we were only outside for a combined 5 minutes. I was more than comfortable in the theater, but when the movie was over and the person in front of us opened the door outside I saw, to my utter amazement, SNOW! And it wasn't just flurrying, it had dropped about an inch on the cars already...I'm still in my flip flops! Let's just say I was glad the pavement was warm enough to melt the snow and that we didn't have far to get to the car!
Moral of the story: Don't wear flip flops at night in February in Colorado, because the weather does crazy things here. (I might add in my defense that we were not forcasted for any amount of snow.)
Have I learned my lesson? Probably not. :)
grace and peace.
