One Year Anniversary
I take a break in the Europe updates to celebrate my one year anniversary of being out here in Denver. It's hard for me to believe that it's already been a year, and yet, at the same time that it's only been a year. The passing of time can be interesting like that. I still live on campus, although I'm now in the apartment across the hall, living with Christy (my Europe buddy). I have completed two semesters worth of classes with only three semesters (and a couple summer classes) left. When I once thought campus ministry, I'm now exploring art and spiritual formation. I didn't know anyone when I moved out here (and missed the Ranch), and now I have amazing friends that I couldn't imagine my life without (and still miss the Ranch). So many changes (and those aren't even all of them)!
A year seems so short when I look at it in retrospect, but I think that is also because it is only my first year here in Denver, and there may only be one and a half more. I invested four years at TSU (three of those with CCF), and a total of twenty-one months over four years at the Ranch, so to say that I've only been here for a year, while that is a lengthy time, it still seems rather short. I can't quite wrap my mind around the fact that this time next year I will only have one more semester left, and that, potentially, could be the end of my time here. I don't even want to think about saying goodbye to this place or these people, but knowing that this year will fly by motivates me to soak in every minute and appreciate what I have here right now!
A lot changed/developed in me, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually this past year. I can only imagine how much more is going to change with this next one.
[As I mentioned before briefly, I have moved. The only thing in my address that has changed is my apartment number is now #302. If you don't have my full address and you are interested (I love snail mail!) just shoot me an email: bethschuette@gmail.com]
grace and peace.
